Dar Liqamas eight bedrooms, with names such as Tangiers, Fez and Jebl Ette, are as exotic, indulgent and as full of individual charm as their names suggest.
Inspired by some of Moroccos famous cities and sights, the designers have cleverly employed traditional textiles and furnishings alongside fabrics by modern designers - Pierre Frey, Manual Canavas, Osborne and Little, Colefax and Fowler and Designers Guild - to produce the ultimate in bedroom luxury. All the rooms are centrally heated and air-conditioned, and all bedrooms have top quality mattresses imported from Europe.
It is an attention to detail into every aspect of the bedrooms that makes Dar Liqama a truly special place to stay, with not one of the eight bedrooms decorated the same. Each has individual features such as coloured Tadelakt walls, Zelige fireplaces or antiquities such as old carved wooden doors, marquetry furniture, wooden arches, and ancient pottery. Just as there is no denying the rooms beauty, comfort is ensured too with luxurious sheets made from Italian cotton and individually designed quilted bedspreads in shades of mint, mauve, champagne and striped local Sabra silk.
Dar Liqamas deluxe rooms - Atlas, Jebl Ette, Berber and Meknès - all feature private terraces, king size beds, ornate fireplaces and large bathrooms, with separate showers and baths. The premium rooms of Fez, Rabat and Tangiers have doors which open on to pretty garden terraces, small fireplaces and, again, large bathrooms with separate showering facilities. Chaouen is the houses standard room but it is no less enticing with its own garden terrace, artefacts adorning the room and large double doors opening onto an extensive bathroom that has been adapted to accommodate the disabled.
All of the rooms are large and have been designed to be more than just a place to sleep. Comfortable seating areas, soft with embroidered pillows and luxurious rugs, create a dreamy setting and ensure guests can relax in their own rooms as well as the rest of the house. The individual terraces are also ideal for guests wishing to spend a private moment enjoying the views across the grounds, to enjoy breakfast à deux, or to take a leisurely cocktail before dressing for dinner.
